Bushwick Bookclub

Just got home from Little Skips. Tonight was Susan Hwang's Bushwick Bookclub show. Every artist has a about a month to read a book (or the film) of her choosing and create and perform a song at the chosen venue. Tonight's book was "Pride and Prejudice" I did a poem called " She Walked"

She Walked

She walked that road in her pretty dress

No matter what they said she couldn’t care less

Her sister was sick and it made her stressed

So she walked that road in her pretty dress

She walked that road with pretty hair

No matter what they said she would make it there

Daddy said

NO carriage

but she didn’t care

She walked that road with pretty hair.

Pretty soon she was covered in dirt

And knew the

rich ones would look down on her

But her sis was ill

she had to go

and

Darcy was feeling her on the low.

So she walked that road with a sweaty face

And she walked right up into that place

Behind her back they let out sighs

But she smiled when her sister opened her eyes

Mr. Bingsly had a welcoming smile

Which made this whole damn trip worthwhile.

She could care less about the rest

So she walked that road in her pretty dress

She walked that road in her pretty dress

No matter what they said she couldn’t care less

Her sister was sick and it made her stressed

So she walked that road in her pretty dress

She walked that road in her pretty dress

No matter what they said she couldn’t care less

Her sister was sick and it made her stressed

So she walked that road in her pretty dress
